DESCRIPTION:

Creation Kingdom Zoo enables visitors to interact very closely with rarely seen animals such as the giraffe, camel, kangaroo, tiger, leopard, sloth, zebra, monkey, lemur, snakes, spiders, birds and so many more.  The zoo offers a very intimate view of these amazing animals against the beautiful backdrop of Virginia’s mountains.  Creation Kingdom consistently ranks as one of the top 10 animal encounters by Trip Advisor, according to VA Tourism Corp.  You’ll meet some of the planet’s most unique and endangered species from  5 continents in an up close and personal way. You’ll even be able to offer many of them a snack along your journey.

After lunch, you’ll be transported to the most bio-diverse river this side of the Amazon, seriously, for the second leg of your day-long adventure. The Clinch River is world renowned for the variety of rare and endangered mussels and other aquatic inhabitants.  You’ll spend the afternoon soaking up the scenic beauty and cooling yourself via relaxing tube (or kayak) float.  Floats range from 90 minutes to 4 hours… the choice is yours!  And if you’re lucky, you might even spy a Hellbender… but don’t fret, their name is worse than their bite (that’s a joke, they don’t bite and will make every attempt to elude you).  If you do encounter this giant salamander, please let it be.

ZOOTUBE includes transportation to and from the venues, admission to Creation Kingdom Zoo, feed for the animals, lunch, tube rental and shuttle to the put-in point on the Clinch River. Price noted is per person.

DON'T FOEGET:

Wear comfy clothes and shoes, bring sunscreen and your camera. Water shoes or tennis shoes work well in the river. Flip flops and open toed shoes aren't recommended. There is a gift shop and concessions are available at the Zoo as well.
